As a Segment Producer, Jason managed the onsite production team and interviewed some of San Diego’s most prolific professional artists for a weekly TV show that aired on NBC including this Emmy Award Winning segment that features legendary architect turned fiber artist Bob Leathers.

REBECCA JADE
Back up vocalist/singer Rebecca Jade has an unprecedented recording and performance resume. She has notable accolades from some of the music industry’s greatest names including Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Erykah Badu, and her current residency with Sheila E of Prince fame. “Weather the Storm” is Rebecca’s debut solo release single. Jason was responsible for producing the project, from concept to completion.
THE PROJECT
WELCOME TO THE VILLAGE
In partnership with Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative and author of the highly acclaimed New York Times Best Seller Just Mercy, Jason travelled to Pritchard, Alabama to document Welcome to the Village, a brief snapshot into the reality of rural poverty in America, which Bryan references in his book. The project is a much sought after media resource for university professors nationwide including Vanderbilt, Portland State University, and San Diego State University.
VICE MEDIA/BLACK LIVES MATTER
DOCUMENT ME
Document ME is a documentary short film about the inspiring true story of two friends who grew up in a predominantly black community in California and were recently facing life in prison for crimes they had no knowledge of and did not commit. Document ME is a compelling story about a real life fight for equality and social justice. The film follows the two friends through their journey as they navigate national media, advocacy groups, and a dramatic trial, ultimatley giving a rare inside look at the reality and risks of racial profiling in the United States.

CONFESSIONS OF FRIENDSHIP
Surrounded by some of the most controversial issues facing America’s inner city churches, Ethos /Mosaic San Diego sought to find common denominators that help bind humanity together with Jesus’s empathy and compassion found in John 15:13. Long before Caitlyn Jenner’s publicity, Jason explored what the evangelical church’s response should look like in harder spaces and how people can personally live out Christ’s example practically.
RESCUE MISSION
SLEEPLESS AMERICA
Sleepless America is a national campaign of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions. The campaign was created to offer a glimpse into what poverty looks like in different parts of the U.S. Jason helped create the brand and developed an entire product line to support the effort in multiple cities. This educational documentary short is separated into 4 thought provoking segments, each 5-8 minutes in length. The project was designed to engage schools, churches, and local businesses.
